Lasik

For a little over a year now, I've been getting these on and off styes on my lower and upper eyelids. I’ve been to several different doctors, ophthalmologists and dermatologists, and each one gives me different recommendations, from hot compresses to creams. And sometimes their recommendations work, but my case is chronic and it’s so frustrating! Until a friend recommended I visit Dr. Elias Warrak, who I took an appointment with last week…

I loved him! He seemed so professional and in his opinion, since I’ve been wearing contacts for almost 10 years now, the eye tends to dry up and blinking can cause a little friction on the eyelids, which can indirectly lead to styes. He recommended an anti-bacterial cream and then he asked me if I was considering laser eye surgery…

With 5 degrees myopia in each eye, I’ve actually been considering getting laser for quite a while now, and like most, he encouraged me to do so. After ordering an eye scan that came out clear, making me a good candidate for laser (or lasik), my surgery is scheduled for this Friday, May 4th at Clemenceau Medical Center… and after doing a little online research on the procedure, I’m a little freaked out!

Words of love and encouragement will do wonders for me right now… :-$
